Cure Natural Aqua Gel Review

Hello lovelies!

So here in Asia, if there is a big Japanese influence like there is here in Singapore, chances are you’ll have seen Cure Natural Aqua Gel in Watsons. I do see on the blogosphere people talking about this product and the ads say its the best selling exfoliator in Japan. As luck would have it, I just ran out of my St.Ives face exfoliator and I was excited to try a new one, an Asian one, and I stumbled upon this.

Watsons give a generous amount of samples of these with a useful little pamphlet on what it does, how to use it and frequently asked questions. Below is my in-depth review on this product. Enjoy!!

Love,                                                                                                                                                                             Natalie.

Summary

Consistency:  The texture of the Aqua Gel, as sort of implied by the name, is a watery gel. Not too runny and not sticky. Very easy to use.

Usage:  You have to use this product on cleansed, dry skin. 1 to 2 pumps is perfect for the entire face and neck. In order to activate the exfoliation you have to rub in circular motions for a few seconds, then you’ll see your dead skin cells bundle up into tiny little flakes. Continue this circular motion on your entire face for about 1 to 2 minutes. Then rinse clean and moisturize as usual. Don’t exceed 3 times a week, so use it 2 to 3 times a week.

Scent:  This product has a faint alcohol scent, however the smell dissipates quickly. But as you can see from the ingredients list, there aren’t any fragrances added to this product.

Color:  There is absolutely no color or added colors to this product. You can also see from the ingredients list. So I would recommend this as a pretty gentle product for people with sensitive skin since there isn’t any beads or grains.

Packaging/Size:  The packaging is in a simple pump bottle. It’s also a generous size and a good amount of product. Though for the price, I’m glad you get this size. I believe its a 500ml bottle.

Optimal Occasion:  I recommend using this product at night since strangely enough my skin actually felt noticeably softer THE MORNING AFTER. My skin didn’t feel particularly softer after washing it off, but it definitely did in the morning. So the pamphlet was actually dead on!

Price:  S$40, US$36

Where to Purchase:  drugstores like Watsons (Asia) and on Amazon (US, International)

Final Opinion:  I think this product is great! It’s not harsh on my skin like grainy or chemical exfoliators. Probably the only gripe is that I have to cleanse then dry my face, then exfoliate then rinse again, but it’s such a little sacrifice. The price is also a bit on the steep side for a drugstore brand, but honestly I think the size will last me for quite a while, especially since this isn’t a product you use multiple times a day or even on a daily bases.
